How do I diagnose if the bearings on the basket are bad? The basket makes all kinds of noise when spinning, running or not. The basket feels very loose. I can push the center of the basket and then spin it and it seems fine. I read somewhere else it could be the pulley in the back, but everything there it tight. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Anyway to tighten it? I would hate to buy a new washer or spends tons of money on it. Its only 4 years old.

I am kinda limited here because this is one of those things that really takes an on site view to diagnose. Take a look at the dampers Here is the service manual which will show you how. http://appliancejunk.com/ge/washer/31-9135.pdfGood luck

Its not the dampers and i checked the nut on the back of the pulley. I can wiggle the basket with everything else not moving.

Well, as I said, without being there to look at it I am kinda limited. Maybe someone else will have some ideas.
