Hi.
First check the lid switch. You can install a temporary jumper wire between GY and W at the lid switch. If the washer starts - replace the lid switch Part number: 8318084 If not check the water level switch contacts V - T should be closed (with water inside). Use the multimeter to do the continuity test. The water level Part number: W10339326 Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for Whirlpool LSQ9549PG2 AUTOMATIC WASHER | AppliancePartsPros.com Thank you. Post the results. Simon.

I replaced the lid switch and it is doing better. The washer will fill up and now your have push the dial in on the timer, advance the arrow just a little and pull the dial back out and the machine will start. Should I go ahead and replace the water level switch? Thanks very much for the advice.

Hi.
It sounds like the timer is acting up. Did you run the lid switch and the water level tests as I suggested? You would know for sure if the parts need replacement. The timer Part number: 8557301 Simon.
