Amana top-loading noisy spin cycle
Model Number: ALW990EAW Brand: Amana Age: More than 10 years
Amana top-loading washer has a progressively loud jet take-off sound when spinning. Today is the first day of this problem. The online-chat forum suggested the main bearing and hub kit repair. How involved is this for the do-it-yourself homeowner? What tools are needed? I'm guessing this machine is 13 yr. old but hasn't been used a lot - only 2 people in house. Anybody have a ball park figure of cost to fix? And, will it harm the machine if I finish my laundry? Thanks much for advice and help.
