May be time to replace, but i have a Frigidaire stacked w/d unit that was built 5/1995. Never had a problem until now. Started a load of laundry yesterday, and it hasn't drained. There is a humming noise that sounds for about 15-20 seconds as though the motor is locked up or something. The lid is also locked, although if I play around with the knob and try different settings, sometimes it will unlock, but generally the knob doesn't do anything. I can switch between all the different load type cycles and nothing happens except every now and then I can get it to hum again, but it definitely sounds like something is wrong.. I've done a little searching and it sounds like it could be the lid switch? But if it is locking, wouldn't that indicate that it's working? Is there more to it? I've used this forum before to fix the dryer glide and a refrigerator, and I really appreciate the resource. It's saved me tons of $.
