I was going to replace the 4 springs, suspension pads and tub suspension pads. If the brakes are faulty, should I try lubricating the brakes between the brake coil spring and the inside of the drum. If so, which lubricant should I use?

If it is a brake problem, how do I know whether it is the shoes, or brake assembly? Does the brake assembly come with the shoes?

Have I considered everything? Please respond, I need to get the parts ordered today.

You probably have bad brake shoes. Go to my stickey above "replacing direct drive washer brake shoes" for info. You will need to buy the special spanner wrench to loosten the drive block nut.
