Washer made loud grinding sound while spinning. On the next load it also was noisy during wash cycle, getting louder and subsequently quit. After cooling off, the motor would humm when turned back on, but would no longer turn. Something seems to have seized up, but what?
Washer is 8 years old with light to moderate use. We're a 2 person household. I'm a retired mechanic and would tackle this job if advisible.
