Washer fills and then makes steady noise

Model Number: LXR9245EQ2 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years

Washer fills up then makes a steady noise and won't continue with the cycle. Washer makes same noise if turned to "Rinse" or "Spin".
