Our washer stops at the last dash (for numbers) of the wash cycle. If I push the knob in and advance anywhere in the area between that and Rinse and pull out the knob, nothing happens. If I advance it to Rinse and pull out, it will start up again but then stop midway between Rinse and Spin. When I advance the knob to Spin and pull it out, nothing happens. However, I am able to put in a thin stick and get it to start (and successfully close the door and have it continue). I have read a LOT of posts but most seem to have noises OR just have a problem w/ the spin cycle. A lid switch problem was suggested and that's how I'm leaning BUT I didn't know if that would explain the stopping before the rinse cycle AND the stopping midway between Rinse and Spin. Any help would be most appreciated!
