Hello,

I have an older Whirlpool washing machine model LHA6700 (1982) and it has been very good to me over the years. My problem is the washer will only agitate - it will not fill or spin. What I have done so far is:
1) the wig-wag went bad so I replaced the wigwag and plungers. I have replaced this in the past and recognized problem.
2) after I installed it I noticed one of the wires (the yellow one) had split so I repaired it with metal wire connectors. I was tired and forgot to insulate the connection. After running a test with 2 of loads every thing seemed ok. When I started another load the wire connectors finally worked into a position that it touched another piece of metal on the bottom of the cabinet.
3) I started moving the timer thru all the positions and found the washer would only agitate; the spin, fill, and drain funtions no longer work.
4) I made a phone call describing my situation and was told it was the timer so I ordered one and just replaced it. Well, I still have the problem.
5) I have the old wig-wag so I put that back in but still have the same problem.

Help... can you point me in the right direction?
