My RCA washer which is 11 years old, but only used at a summer home, makes noise. The entire tub inside seems loose and wobbles back and forth when I touch it. It almost looks like the tub inside is so loose it is not attached to something. Can anyone please help me. I can't find my manual. Do I take the front off of it and check something out inside. Pls. help. Nancy

There are two common things that will cause these washers to become noisy. The suspension rods will squeak. This would be noisy during wash. The tub seal will leak (one or two drops a load) causing the transmission to be noisy during spin. The tub may have come loose from the transmission but it is normal for it to be somewhat loose. You can remove agitator (just pull up) then remove the 7/16 screw to remove the agitator coupling. Once done you can see if the big nut that holds the tub in is loose.
