Model Number: 110.92293810 Brand: Kenmore Age: More than 10 years
The washer agitates but does not spin or drain. If I move the dial to rinse it just agitates. I have checked the lid switch and if I manually close the switch (with the lid open) and turn the dial to spin it just agitates faster but does not drain, it never spins.

Hi.
Dew to the age of the washer I'm not able to locate any technical info and diagram. From the data your provided most likely the problem is a bad timer. It shows as no longer available. You may try the internet search. The part #3358112. Thank you. Simon.

Hi Simon,
Why do you suspect the timer? If I manually put it to spin and it does not spin wouldn't that be some other switch or gear or???. I have two places on the dial that say spin, one after the rinse and one that says"spin only". If I turn it on either one it only agitates very strongly but the tub does not move. |

If you turn the timer to SPIN the motor reversing and washer starts draining.(assuming the lid switch is OK).
When the tub is empty, the timer pausing witch allow the spin gear inside the transmission to engage. Washer agitates only and not draining - the timer not reversing the motor. This is my honest opinion. Simon.

Ho Simon... I hope you are around. I was able to locate the timer at Sears parts and it came today. It is an exact match and I installed it easily... BUT...the washer still does not spin or drain. If I set it to spin the agitator just moves up and down real fast.

Just to add my 2 cents...

There are two ways how to test the lid switch. One is to check it for continuity and the other one is to bypass it. Only such tests are reliable enough to say that the switch is good. Gene.
