My whirlpool washer will not spin. It makes a whinnying noise when it goes to the spin cycle.

Remove the washer cabinet and check the motor drive coupling (#13 at the diagram). You can view the video instructions bellow. - The motor drive coupling Part number: 285753A

Gene, Thanks a million. That was great! I am not very not very handy when it comes to things like this. I followed your advice, bought the part and just finishing installing by following the video. I could have never done it without that video. You are life saver. Saved me about $500. I would have bought a new one.
You were right on the part. It was worn out and cracked. I went to a local appliance store to get the part, and they told me the same thing. They also told me why it wears out. I will have a talk with my wife after we get it running.
