Model Number: MVWC6ESWW1 Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
(This is a re-post from 3 days ago due to no replies yet. I am looking to purchasing a new timer switch to begin testing parts to diagnose this problem but would like know if you might hepl me choose the most likely part to change out first).
The water temp will not properly regulate while in the "Normal" cycle. It has a 4 water temp control switch which works perfectly in "Heavy Duty", "Delicates", and "Casual" cycles but, with the timer switch set to the "Normal" cycle, the "Hot" setting of the Temp. Control Switch only produces warm water (a mixture from the hot and cold hoses) and all other settings produce only cold (nothing from the hot hose at all). My thinking is that this is a problem with the timer switch since it is the only variable that produces the problem on a consistent basis (ie when the setting is "Normal"). Yet the timer switch seems to work fine otherwise. Could the water valve assembly be misfiring only on the Normal cycle setting due to something within the water valve/solenoids themselves?. Or is it the temp control switch? Which would you try changing out first? Thanks, Deron Read more: Auto Temp Control Issue http://forum.appliancepartspros.com Ads By Google Related Models |

Sorry you didn't get a quicker response. Those of us who reply on this Forum are mostly volunteers and sometimes the volume of posts just overwhelms us.
Your symptoms are interesting, can't say I have experienced them before. I would go ahead and replace the timer and see if that fixes things. If you buy from this site and the part does not fix the problem you can return it. Also, there is an electronic control on this model, if the timer is not the problem try replacing it. Good luck, let us know how things turn out.
