Below is a previous post I made about a squeal, but I added new information below. A couple of months ago, my Maytag Atlantis washer started squealing during the spin cycle only, not during aggitation. It then stopped for several weeks. Now it has started back up. The squeal is relatively constant during the spin cycle, although it does continuously change pitch. I replaced the belt and this did not help. I ran the washer with the front panel off, and the squeal is coming from down low, close to the floor, but I am unable to figure out exactly what is causing it. Does anyone have any ideas of what may be causing it? Anything else I can do to help trouble shoot? Most likely culprits that I can replace that would be cheaper than a service call?
UPDATE: Now the tub won't spin. Aggitation cycle works fine, no noise, but spin cycle is a loud squeal and no spinning. Thanks in advance, Dan
