put in new snubber and belt- motor still overheats and stops for 30 minutes- then starts again- removed belt to check thrust bearing- can turn in agitate direction with 1 finger but to turn in spin direction is much more difficult but pulley moves up and down and it will turn- should it turn equally easy each direction? motor turns freely and seems to pivot OK- - pump turns freely- black reside coming off new belt onto floor - Thanks in Advance

It could be that your motor is failing, but I think it is much more likely your thrust bearing is not releasing the brake. Use the washers that came with it to make sure it is rising enough to release the brake and see if that doesn't fix things.
