My husband is working on my machine trying to get it to spin. He is an experienced DIYer and trouble-shooter. He had it completely apart (except for opening the gears) and everything looks great. No parts appear worn or broken. But the basket shows signs of dragging on the plastic tub. After reading many posts and the most recommended repair was to change the clutch, he installed a new clutch. Still have same problem. He can not figure out exactly what part is supposed to make it spin. Anybody have andy suggestions. Can I make a teflon washer to raise the basket and where would I install it? Help, please!!!

In the mean time, he found that the spin basket is dragging on the tub-- had left marks on the bottom and side in the back. So he made 2 teflon washers to raise it. basket no longer drags but spins slowly and can be stopped by holding the basket. And it makes a clicking noise. And the brake no longer stops it-- it just keeps spinning.

He watched the video on how to install the block drive. When it said to be sure the ears fit into the basket drive, he realized there were NO ears to fit into it. The block drive in our machine was more of a compression fitting that had spread some and allowed the basket to drop and drag on the tub. So tomorrow he will get a new part with the ears and put it in. We believe that will "put the spin back in the basket" and hold the basket up off the tub. For the last 4 days he has been mumbling about not seeing anything that would engage to make the basket spin. Hope this is the solution!
