how do i remove the module that controls the cycle settings? i already removed the panel but need to remove the knob and dont want to break it.

The circular disc in the center of the knob pops off. You'll need a small screwdriver to pry it off. With that removed, you'll then see a retaining clip, you can use the same screwdriver to pop it off. After that everything will come apart for you. Look on page 4 in the below link and you can see the breakdown.
