replaced the timer and now the unit motor hums no matter what position the timer is in on or off. must unplug to to stop hum.
Is the timer defective?
Is the motor switch defective?
Is the motor defective? Thanks Jeff

Sounds like a wiring problem as nothing should happen with the timer off.

Check the wiring to the motor, and check to see if voltage is coming to it when the timer is off
