The washer tub had been doing a lot of clunking in the spin cycle like the load was off balance. Now the tub does not seem to be attached to the frame, what part/parts will we need to replace?

Hi.

Remove the agitator and check 4 screws, holding the basket to the transmission.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for Maytag PAVT244AWW WASHER-TOP LOADING | AppliancePartsPros.com

Post the results. Thank you.

Simon.
