the final spin won't engage into the fast spin cycle. the water will drain/pump out but the spin cycle doesn't reach the high pitch stage. according to the tech sheet it could be speed switch or the speed control board. thanks for any help.

I tried the final spin on all three cycles, regular, perma. press and handwash. the final spin wouldn't kick into high gear. I have ordered the speed control board.

hey gene....i received my replacement board within two days and i installed it this afternoon....unfortunately, the final spin didn't engage into the fast spin. my thought is that the final spin switch, normal/fast is the problem. is there a way for me to bypass the switch that controls the speed without having to wait for a replacement switch. i have a one month old and our laundry is piling up. any quick fix solution would be appreciated since i spent $160 to find out that my speed control board was ok. thanks for the help...robert

hey gene...I am attaching a copy of my tech sheet that has the wiring diagram for the speed switch. I have three wires coming out of the switch. on the top is a purple wire followed by two wires below it, tan and pink/black wires. I primarily use the perm press cycle with a normal/min speed for the final spin. should/can I connect tan with purple to make the final spin engage? I just need a quick fix because I live in the mountains of NC and it would take me 1.5 hours to get to Sears to replace this switch. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Robert

Hi Robert,

This model is new to me and the information from this piece of the diagram is not enough. Can you fax the whole tech documentation? My fax#: 714.908.7679

Gene.

P.S. Mistyped the fax number. It is 714.908.7679

There is a chain diagram in your service sheet to diagnose no spin involving the dispenser drawer, timer and door switch. Probably a bad door switch.
You can download the service manual at www.appliancjunk.com/forums Just click on manuals, then laundry, then the Frigidaire timer models, not electronic.
