intermittent agitator
Model Number: 110.26742503 Brand: Kenmore Age: 1 - 5 years
Intermiitent agitator, top and bottom agitators stop, hear gearbox running, coupler good, clutch/brakes seem fine. Can move agitator and it starts to work again, but soon stops, move again, works then stops. Spins fine. Can do a load, but have to constantly reset agitator. Took apart gearbox, found broken spring (part #10 on gearbox parts exploded view). Without totally tearing down gearbox, the rest seems fine. Could this be my problem?? What would be the part # I need to order? Also I removed nylon gear to inspect (#25), is there any special procedure to reinstall (alignment etc. for parts in box 26)? Any special sealant needed to use on gearbox cover or would RTV be good? Thanks
