I need some help. How do I open up the cabinet to the washer to access the belt. I have more problem dealing with the mysteries of opening up appliance housing/cabinet than the repair itself.

I think I have to remove the top deck (where the lip is mounted to) first. Then, remove the front body panel.

Insert a screw driver in the gap between the top and front near the edges and you will release clips that hold the front to the cabinet.

This will give you access to the inside of the machine. Know what you mean about trying to get into things to fix them.
