Default Works in service mode, not in normal operation
Model Number: MAH2400A   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 1 - 5 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
This front loader gos through the agitation cycle to the spin cycle and then stops working, providing the "nd" code for no drain. In service mode the machine fills with water, drains, and spins at high speeds. So motor and drain are functional and seem to be connected. What else should I test and how do I do it? Or, like all these other modern front loaders did the control panel just crap out again? I've already replaced the control panel in this unit once several years ago. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Perform the Board Input test (the water level sensing part) and the Board Output test (the drain pump) as instructed in the tech sheet which I'm assuming you do have. Post the results.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for Maytag MAH2400AWW WASHER- HORIZONTAL AXIS | AppliancePartsPros.com

Output test, all functioned except for door lock on both "chime" and "temperature" locked but didn't unlock . Extra rinse bleach valve filled, but wouldn't start.

Input test, all functioned correctly.

Did you try to get Display Diagnostic codes as described on page 7?

I didn't run "Display Diagnostic Codes" as described on page 7. When in normal mode when it got to the part of the cycle where it stopped, it gave the "nd" code.

You may want to do it because these codes are more specific. Do it together with the Board Output test.

This machine isn't at my house, I want to make sure I get this in one trip. I need to run the output test, then the diagnostic codes test. Assuming it comes up with "nd" again, and it isn't the pump motor or a loose connection, is there any answer other than the control panel?

Do you have any experiance with this model of machine, because this one has been a big lemon for me. In the five years I've had it I've already replaced the control board, the motor, and the drain pump. Not to mention the several times I've had to clear out the drain line because the genius who designed it didn't put a filter on the drain.

Well, as you can see from the tech sheet, the problem can be a bad control board, a bad pressure sensor, an excessive amount of suds due to a wrong detergent, or a problem with the drain hoses. I'm just trying to short this list.

I ran the "quick service cycle" again. Everything funcitoned until step 7. when the cycle stopped after draining and displayed "0". It did not spin.

The machine will spin with the spin test.

On the board output test, again the door lock funtions would lock but not unlock and the bleach/cold water valve woudn't function.

During the "Display Diagnostic Codes" the only code that would show was "1". It would not display any other codes but seemed to go through the list and ended with "--".

Check for 120 VAC to the drain pump as described in the tech sheet (page 10) when it suppose drain after agitation was done. If the reading is incorrect, replace the control board.

- The control board Part number: 12002651

Part number: 12002651
