Door lock or something else?
Model Number: GLTR1670ASO Brand: Frigidaire Age: 1 - 5 years
Washer will not spin.I checked the pump and hose, washer drains fine. On the door lock the solenoid locks the door and the spin light comes on when you shut the door. What does the coil in the door lock do and is there a way to test it? Or is my problem something else?

Hi.
It's a bit tricky. The door luck failure is very common problem. The wax motor (the brown part on the side of the switch) in ideal world should be 1500 Ohms. If it measures 2% less - the recommendation is to replace it. Check all the connections at the timer and motor control board down at the bottom. The door luck assembly Part number: 131763202 Good luck. Post the results. Simon.

My was motor on the door lock ohms out at 1765 ohms. You said it should be 1500 and if 2% less should be replaced. What about the higher ohm reading I got?

Also on the door lock coil, it ohms at 1320. Is this too much?

I also tried to open the door when locked. It would not open but I could hear the wax motor clicking and buzzing! I don't quite understand the wax motor, but sounds like I will replace it! Is this a returnable part? The washer will agitate and drain, just won't spin!

I received the new door lock assembly on Saturday. That was the problem, washer spins like it should now! Thanks for the help!
