Washing machine will not agitate or agitates very slowly, but otherwise functions correctly. checked belts and pulleys appear to be fine any suggestions, appears that motor only runs in one direction.

Hi.

Using the potty knife release two clips and remove the front panel.
See if the motor and transmission pulley turns normally, the belt is not sleeping.
If that checks OK, loosen up the 1/4" hex set screw and remove the agitator.
Start the wash cycle .
If the transmission shaft is slow - you've got the bad transmission.
