Model Number: WBVH51000HWW Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
I have a front loader clothes wahing machine {less than 2yrs old} that if I could lift it, I would throw it thru the window. I too have had the moldy smell and stained clothes - bought Tide machine cleaner and hoping that will do the trick as soon as I can get it operational again.
Spoke with a service rep who advised the reason the machine was not running continously, not spinning throughly, spinning violently when it does, smoking, and not leaving clothes clean and fresh smelling was that the drain was clogged. I removed the bottom panel and emptied the drain and I believe that for the minimal amout of water and 3 nails and VERY small amount of lint this is not the only cause to my problems. I can't get the rest of the front panel off to inspect the drum and belt {which what I anticipate was smoking during another earth shattering spin cycle} but I am concerned about putting it all back together only to have to take it apart again to start over. Not that I'm weak but I'm a girl and this really isn't my area of expertise. Any help, suggestions or similiar stores would be greaty APPRECIATED. Sure don't want to do this again anytime soon. Thanks everyone... Ads By Google Related Models |

I think the service tech was right, and you need to make certain nothing is in the pump/drain section of the washer. If there is any restriction in the draining or pumping of water these machine have all sorts of problems.
Here is the service manual which will be of some help. http://appliancejunk.com/ge/washer/31-9135.pdf Good luck
