Model Number: not sure Brand: Kenmore Age: 1 - 5 years
Hi,
I was using my friend's front-load Kenmore washer, and it stopped mid-cycle (about half way through) and now won't work. The door-lock light comes on, which indicated to me there's still power going to the washer. But, no matter what part of the cycle I turn the switch to, it just doesn't work. It stopped with water still in, and won't drain. Any ideas what it could be? Any help would be much much appreciated. Maria Ads By Google Related Models |

Hi Maria
Without a model number we really cannot provide you with any information. Look inside the door for a model number. If the door is locked and will not open, take off the bottom panel and reach up on the door lock side. You will find an oval shaped tab. Pull gently on it and the door lock will release. You should also find a tech sheet with trouble shooting techniques. Try to put the machine in test/diagnosis mode and see what you can determine.

Hi,
I checked the model and it's 970-C41062-00. Also, I isolated the problem: the drain is clogged. I ended up emptying the water in there by hand, and turned to spin cycle, and it works now. So, can you point me to instruction on cleaning the drain? Thanks! |

Hi Maria
That model number does not come up. You should have a model number that begins 417. or 110. Anyway, if the machine has a front panel below the door take that off and it should give you access to the drain pump and a way to clean out the drain. If you need more info post the model numbe and we'll see what else we can tell you. Good luck.
