Model Number: 417.42142100 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
My front loader won't advance past 1st wash cycle. Have just replaced timer no change on all wash cycles. It is though what ever is supposed to tell the washer to fill for rinse is not happening. Is ther a water level switch? or control board issue. Any help appreciated.

Hi.
Does the washer work if you select "cold water" wash? Post the results. Simon.

Hi.
Those are famous for stopping the water when ever they want to. Check the cold water hose. Replace them with stainless still ones. Post the results. Simon.

The "flood safe" washer hoses sold at the big box stores were the culprit. I verified that there was no water flowing from the cold hose and then I disconnected it from the tap and that resets the valve in these hoses. One of the keys to this hose is that you need to s l o w l y turn on the supply or the "valve" thinks it has a blown hose and shuts the water off. Thanks for the help.
