Maytag washer quits during spin...not unbalanced
Model Number: lat9304 Brand: Maytag Age: More than 10 years
The washer quit in the middle of the spin cycle. I adjusted the load and it started again...soon quit...readjusted...now nothing happens... The only thing that will work is to fill it with water. No other cycle will work. I can't tell if the lid switch is working or not. Where do I start? The washer is 11 years old and we've never had problems with it.

Seems like your lid switch failed. Check it for continuity per the service sheet.
Also, you may have something caught in the tub that caused the problem. Lift up top, remove tub top and check.
