When you open and close the lid do you hear any clicking noise? There are switches that the lid activates to make the machine run. Might want to look at the control panel picture, and the wiring diagram you'll find in the below link.

I own a LAT9306AAE model Maytag washer. I have been living in Chile (South America) since January of 2003. The machine (which is a 60 cycle model-purchased in Oklahoma City, OK) has functioned here thus far. Because Chile has 50 cycle electrical service, the machine sometimes stops in the middle of a wash cycle and will not continue until we turn of the machine for a few minutes. Then we restart the machine at the point in the cycle where it stopped and it continued. Today, the machine stopped at the end of the first wash cycle (before going into spin and empty). We turned it off as we have done for nearly 8 years and waited. This time it refuses to respond no matter what is the possition of the dial when we turn on the machine. Any suggestions regarding repair?
