I ordered this agitator/filter part for my whirpool washer as the old one has been broken /chipped off at the bottom. I checked the diagram list for the part to order and I did get the new one. Just the agitator/filter part#WPL 63753. However, when I placed this and when the washer starts to spin, this whole thing pops out of place and spins causing it to break. I am not sure if there is anything or screw that should hold it in place. The diagram just shows a screw that is attached to the base . The old one that I have did not have anything to hold in place. I wonder why this new one pops out.

If you click on your model number in your post you will be take to an exploded view of your machine. You will see that there is a bolt which holds on the upper agitator to the shaft.

That should fix your problem, don't know why you did not have one on your machine.
