My problem started with what I thought was a fire, but it turned out to be the spin belt burning up. I replaced the belt and thought that would be
it, no chance, not that simple.

After replacing the belt I started things up and noticed that the timer didn't seem to be indexing. Water fills automatically but to get it to agitate I have to manually turn the timer dial. Even turning the timer dial I can't get
it to spin. Also it appears my new belt is starting to smell and
smoke. It must be by not going through a normal cycle the belt just
sits there and spins. That's probably what happened to the original
belt.

So do you think it is the timer or maybe the transmission is not letting it index from one cycle to another? Is there anyway to test the timer before spending a hundred dollars on a new one ? Thanx for any help! Tom
