Washer agitator only goes one way in wash cycle. The cloths then wrap them self around the agitator. The drum spins fine in the spin cycle.

I can hear a grinding/clicking when the agitator should be going back the other way. Is this a transmission thing or is there a reverse gear in the agitator that makes it go back and forth?
