Model Number: WWHDSR315DAWW Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
Just replaced the timer and knob and washer starts when it is supposed to. Now when washer gets to the spin rinse cycle it fills and drains but, the drum does not spin. Clothes are soaked after spin cycle what could the problem be? Just to let you know agitator works in wash cycle. Also When I lift the lid the washer does not stop.

I had the same model and found that the belt was worn and loose and changed the belt and it worked great. Take the front cover off by lifting 2 clips at the front top (about 6 inches in on each side) and it will fall forward. You may think at this point you can get the belt on. I struggled with this and finally realized this was impossible because of the limited room of getting your hands in there.
Next unhook the hoses and the drain hose(2 screws). This is a good time to replace the 2 fillup hoses with steel hoses. I hear stories how the rubber ones can go after a period of time. Next place the washer on its back with the exposed front facing upwards. Take all screws out from bottom cover including 2 big screws holding the washer pump. (It didn't seem to cause the pump to move much with the nuts removed. There are also a couple of nuts on the body that also need to be removed. Now that bottom piece if you pull up on it a little will dislodge and fall down like a hinged cover. (At this point (after 2 hours) I felt like I just cracked a safe :-)) Now you should have enough room to get the belt on. I keep hearing from other folks that the motors on these things are great so you should be good to go for a long time to come. Other words of wisdom is you can squirt some DW40 on the pulley's (making sure you don't get it on the spot the belt goes on). Also when you remove the exit drain hose, some existing water may come out so you may want to plug it up with a paper towel. Good Luck! |

Thanbks for this response. Especially the "How to open the front panel" I was stuck replacing the water pump and found a large fur ball lodged in the pump. Didn't have to replace it after all. Don't wash stuffed animals if they have even the slightest innards coming out. lol
