The washer makes an extremely loud squeal when spinning. It also stops very abruptly when opened. The other symptom was it completely quit spinning. I turned the drum a little to see if it would move at all and then turned the unit back on and the original problem came back with the loud noise while it was spinning. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Most likely the problem with your washer is a bad bearing on the drain pump. The pump has to be replaced.

- The part number for the drain pump is AP3447809
