Hi,
I've done a lot of searching on this site to try to determine what my washing machines issues are (Maytag PAVT244AWW - Rev 10). I've pieced a bunch of stuff together, and am looking for some reassurance before I start gutting it replacing parts.

Two issues:
1) Very noisy during agitate cycle only. Spin is okay. Has been getting progressively louder over the past 2 years.
2) Spin cycle frequently starts 'walking' as the machine can not compensate for an off center load.

Possible solutions?
1) When I tip the unit and spin the main pulley (on the bottom of the tranny) in the agitate direction, I get a lot of noise, sounds like bad bearings. Brakes work and release fine. Pump empties the machine fine.
I suspect I need a new thrust bearing kit to fix this???
2) From what I've read, it sounds like I may need a new snubber ring and suspension spring kit? How hard is it to get at and install the snubber ring? ("easy" if I'm in there doing the thrust bearings?)
