My washer was in storage for about 1 year and when I moved it into my home it agitates real slow and appears to almost spin around, not all the way around, kinda like something is slipping. Also when it gets to the spin cycle the water will drain but most of the time it will not spin at all. I usually turn my dial back to spin and it will start to spin. It also seems to have a weird smell on the inside of the tub but I thought that was from it sitting in storage for so long.

If your machine was inactive for a year the transmission could have seized up a little bit or the brakes can be sticking, your motor connection can be rusted and all sorts of other things, but let's start with an easy one. It may be that your problem is in the motor coupling (that connects the motor shaft to the transmission. This video will show you how to open your machine and check it out. When you get the motor off see how easily the transmission turns, if it is easy to turn replace the coupler and see if that fixes it.
