GE stackable will not agitate but will spin

Model Number: wsm27tcawwb Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years

Inspected washer found tub will not agitate but spin cycle works fine. Found motor overloading when trying to run in wash cycle. removed belt, motor is spinning in both directions no problem. is there a problem with the transmission? Also having lots of trouble removing transmission shaft from inner tub any suggestions. (Have agitator removed and everything unbolted, just cant pull shaft through tub)
