washer hums when i turn the timer . after turning timer sometimes it works .changed timer 2 months ago could it of went bad again or is it possibly the lid switch. also any one know how to take the knob off?

I don't think it is the lid switch. The first thing you want to do is take off the cabinet and look for something stuck in the pump and check out the coupling.

The video's that can be accessed from the top of the main washer page will show you how. They will also show you how to take the timer knob off. Usually it unscrews or can be release from the back after taking off the console.
