After the wash spin cycle the basket is just white with soap suds from the clothes to the top of the basket. And after the final spin cycle there is soapy water left in the bottom.

Decrease the soap amount and use HE soap.

Do not use any fabric softener.

Gene, I'll give your suggestion a try. But the one about using less soap, I ran the same load through again and didn't add any soap and still had soapy water in the bottom after the final spin. I remember when the washer was brand new it had no problem handling alot more soap, especially for work clothes and being around oily sheets of steel and welders all day. But I've cut down to practically nothing and never have used fabric softener. Thanks. p

Clean the washer first. There are so much build ups between the inner and outer tubs - you would not believe it.

Do not buy a soap which is on sale today - buy a good (not a least expensive) soap with a good references.

Try not to use cold water - it does not dissolve any soap at all.

Gene.
