Model Number: GLET1142CS0 Brand: Frigidaire Age: 5 - 10 years
Filled my garage with smoke. Called Fire Department out. No electrical problem. I want to sell it as is but not sure what to list as the problem part that needs replacing.
Also, what would be the estimated value if the manufactured date was 05/04 and its in good shape other than determining the smoke problem Ads By Google Related Models Last edited by CrystalMW : 03-21-2012 at 06:42 PM. |

You said there is "No electrical problem", how do you know?
Does the unit now run OK? I cannot even guess what is needed, you have to open it up and find the part that smoked. If you sell it then you may want to get a lawyer to put together a contract for you. Selling something that has smoked could well make you liable if it burns down someones house.

I bought another washer and dryer and they work fine in the outlets. There was no fire as determined by the fire department, only smoke. I dont want to be the cause of someone's house fire. I plan to sell as is with intent of explaining the situation and recomendation of getting a technician to look at it. However I dont have the money to do so and I have multiple opinions telling me its more than likely the drive belt.

Here is the parts breakdown
Replacement parts for Frigidaire GLET1142CS0 Frigidaire/laundry Center | AppliancePartsPros.com Here is a manual it may help you confirm that it was the belt. http://appliancejunk.com/forums/inde...=view;down=261 You may want have to join the site to get the manual but it is a good site for service manuals on many appliances. I am not sure if it is a match to your unit but is the only one I can find. OK "No electrical problem" is for your electrical and not the appliance, I was not sure about this. I would recommend that you make up a bill of sale stating the units history (re: smoked) and have both you and the buyer sign it. Then keep your copy so if something happens in the future you have some protection from a law suit. Also state it in any advert and keep copies of any advert you put out there. I am just concerned that you will sell it in good faith and then it comes back to bite you. In this case I guess it is a case of Seller Beware.
