Washer is 3 yrs old. It fills ok, but won't go (start) next
cycle. I replaced the timer unit, but it did not cure the problem. I can get the washer to go , by rocking the hell out of it. It then completes all it's cycles. Help Please!!

Could possibly be the water level switch not giving the signal for the motor to start, although that doesn't fail very often. I would suggest you start looking at/unplugging then plugging back in your quick disconnect connectors. Sure sounds like you have a connection that isn't always making contact, and when you shake it, it's jarring it to the point it then contacts. You might want to start with the connection at the motor.

Be sure to have the power removed when disconnecting any connectors. If you do them one at a time, and then plug the machine back in after disconnecting one, it would help you determine which one may be the culprit.

Just to add my 2 cents...

I would check the lid switch (#11 on the diagram), its wire harness plug and the lid hinges first. According to the wiring diagram this switch interrupts power to the motor. Loose lid hinge can cause the lid switch not to engage properly.
