Model Number: FWS445RFS3 Brand: Frigidaire Age: More than 10 years
My '99 Frigidaire gets through almost the whole wash cycle fine but at the end spin cycle it does not spin completely -if at all- the clothes are soaked at the bottom and there is something burning -- (belt?)
When this first happened I thought/hoped it would just be the belt which was shot anyways, so I ordered one from here and replaced it - the same thing is happening now and smoke filled up the garage (my new belt cooking?) thank goodness it's not in the house! Could this be a busted transmission? Should I just invest in a new machine?? Please help Thanks Ads By Google Related Models |

Remove the belt and turn the tranny pulley in the spin direction. If hard to turn, you might have a bad tranny, bad tub bearings, or something stuck in the tub.
Tilt back the top, remove the tub top plastic cover and check for something jammed between the spin basket and tub. If ok, that confirms a bad tranny.
