Unknown model Maytag top loading washer. No fancy lights, just old turn knob. It starts the wash cycle but when it comes to rinse and spin it only "clicks". It "clicks" like its counting down. After several attempts of spinning the knob to different cycles it will spin. Any ideas?????

Hi.
To help you with diagnostics we need complete model number. Look at top rear of the control panel. Post result.

Very likely the problem is a bad timer. In order to provide the correct part number we need the serial number of the washer as well.
