I have installed the cam agitator repair kit, however, the dogs have nothing to catch to....does that mean that I need a whole new agitator, or am I missing another part in the agitator.

Also, when I took the cap off the agitator it was full of metal screws and clamps, not sure where they came from.

Lil bit,
Are you sure you installed the "dogs" and cam kit properly, and libricated the dogs and cam so they would move and lock properly?
You'll need to repeat the teardown process and check the inside of the agitator/clothes mover Part number: AP3018874
Part number: AP3018874
there are "teeth" molded into the inside surface that the dogs must grip and lock on, in order to move the clothes. You may also need to remove the lower agitator Part number: AP2906554
Part number: AP2906554
there are "splines" molded into the bottom opening, if they are damaged or stripped, the agitator shaft(metal) will not drive the agitator. As for the screwsand clamps, No idea, the only thing under the cap should have been the plastic cover and the bolt that attaches the agitator to the agitator shaft. Could someone have left them there during a previous repair ?

:) :) :)
