This is 3-speed motor direct drive top load washer, king capacity. It is the touch console with electronic control board. This is neutral drain. Look in console for tech sheet you need tests and fault codes. There is a repair parts list with schematics. Our first fail years ago was control board. No dc to touch panel. The second fail recently was more complicated. Slow spin and no neutral drain. At end of agitate control board stops washer for a pause gear case is in neutral spin mode. Control board reverses motor and pump drains and washer pauses. Control board reverses into spin and completes wash cycle. This series is important it indicates possible failures. The touch switches and indicator given as 3.0 vdc minimum is good at 1.5 vdc as given by whirlpool. We found a second bad control board. The motor control voltages were off. A third board repaired problem. Check all other causes before buying a board. If spin fails you can install brake shoes. If gear case some repairs are possible I put in a neutral drain kit. Check DavesRepair.com for directions look for Jan/Feb 2008 DRS news.
