![]() Model Number: 417.44092500 Brand: Kenmore Age: 1 - 5 years
![]() Towels were still soaking wet, not draining/spinning all the way, and making a buzzing noise. Checked pump, found change and a bra stay jamming pump. Replaced pump, buzzing noise gone, but still won't drain all the way. Tried a short rinse/spin cycle, but it just shuts off before the cycle is complete. Could it be the door switch? if so, how do you check it? Related Models |

![]() If unit will spin, then your door switch checks ok.
How do you know unit will shut off before cycle ends? Is it just that there is still water on clothing or water still in bottom of basket/tub? Because the unit can still finish a cycle as far as it is concerned but water can still be in bottom. If there is water still in the bottom, then you probably didn't clear the drain lines from tub to pump well enough, or maybe there is an obstruction in drain line from pump to drain pipe. Also, if these units are too off balanced, they will not spin on high speeds. If there is no water in bottom of unit, but just clothing still wet, then you have a possible spin issue, if water is in bottom, then possible drain line issue. If you did not get all the debris in the hose from tub to pump, more stuff can find its way into pump. Also, too much sudsing will cause improper spin and draining... Are you using too much detergent or improper type? good luck |

![]() I put a couple of towels in it, ran the 13-minute drain/spin cycle, you can hear the water being pumped out. but when it comes time to spin (at about the 7-minute mark) it starts to spin, but doesn't speed all the way up. The display goes blank, then I hear 3 beeps. That's it. towels are still wet, have to be wrung out. I checked the drain line from the washer to the wall drain, it was clear. (I'm a low-voltage electrician/alarm guy, so I have a 25-foot fish tape) I ran it thru the hose, then ran it thru the drain hose from the pump to the outlet on the back of the machine. Found no obstructions. Could it be just off balance cause there are only 2 towels in there? I hesitate to get a bunch more things wet. Does the same thing on the 19-minute rinse/spin cycle. starts to pick up speed, then quits. Should I risk a full load?

![]() Meant to add: about the detergent: we have only used the mfg's recommended liquid HE detergent. I also have removed the back and checked the shock aborbers and the spider gear on the back of the drum. They are fine. I have worked on a lot of different stuff with success, but this is bugging the cr@p out of me. Help!

![]() Yes, only 2 or 3 towels can cause an unbalanced load.
You really need to figure out what is going on with machine. Initially you mentioned that it will not drain out. Now it seems that it will not spin. Did all the water pump out? If so, then move on from the pump... If it spins for a bit then stops, cuts off and you hear 3 beeps, try and see if there is an error code on display. Usually the stopping and 3 beeps indicate an error of some sort. See if there is a letter and number... maybe an E followed by number, or F followed by number. Remove your bottom front toe panel beneath door and look for tech manual and it will tell you how to read an error code. It will also tell you how to read the unit's error codes. If there is an error code, follow the directions to remedy that issue... It could be your motor control board malfunctioning... but you will need to check for an error code. |
