My Neptune made a loud "clunk" sound and completed its wash cycle today. However when it was time to switch to the spin cycle it just stopped and the door unlocked. Does this malfunction indicate a bad pump?

There is so much wrong with this machine, which is a first generation Neptune that the best I can do is provide you the service manual and let you see if you can diagnose it. Control board is a likely candidate.

I admit it is not much, but it is more than Maytag would ever do for you.

Good luck

Thanks, I was afraid the board may be the problem.
