Model Number: wtw6600sw Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
I bought a whirlpool cabiro washer and dryer in 2007, used it for less than one year, and moved from TX to NY. The apartment we first moved into had a W/D, so we put both in our basement. Now that we haved moved into a house, niether one works. The washer fills with water, aggitates for about 15 seconds then displays OL error message. I know it is not overloaded, it only had about 5 towels in it. The owners manual says to unplug, wait, and try again...did this...no love. I also checked, double checked and rechecked to make sure that everything was hooked up right, level, ect. Any ideas? (or if someone can post a link with the service manual, that would be great)
The dryer problem is that my husband changed the plug from a 4 prong to a 3 prong plug, (I am pretty sure he did it right, he is really good at this type of thing, and even he can't figure this one out) and now the dryer runs for less than one minute (VERY LOUDLY) stops running, and makes one "click" sound. Any ideas? (I did find the service manual link, and the hiding spot in the dryer, so maybe this will give him what he needs, he is at work right now) Thanks Ads By Google Related Models |

Ok, well you have several things going against you, as I imagine you have figured out.
1. You have moved these machines twice. In general they don't like to be moved, although in most cases they should survive the move ok, being handled and banged around can cause all sorts of problems. 2. They have been idle for a while. In general, they don't like being idle. If water stayed in the washer (it needed to be completely drained) that is not a good thing. 3. They have probably been exposed to sharp temperature swings. In general they don't like this. If you are thinking these are rather picky machines, you are correct. With rspect to the washer, here is the service manual. Try to put it through the diagnostics, and check the too heavy a load circuit. https://secured.whirlpool.com/Servic...LE/8178582.pdf On the dryer, sounds like something came loose in the move, so you will need to open it up and check it out. The manual will show you how to do that. Good luck,

Sidfink43 great info, would you be able to post a link to the dryer manual? I am experiencing a similar knocking noise when the dryer is running. I don't know how to disassemble the dryer, I am certain something is loose. W10054070 is the model of the Cabrio fabric care system electric dryer with lint trap on top that I have. I would appreciate your help.
Thanks, Flor D |
