Model Number: wfw8300sw02 Brand: Whirlpool Age: Less than 1 year
whirlpool duet washer with f-28 code
Ok, I have searched and searched for a fix, my door would not open. even after pulling on the emergency open tab it wouldn't open. replaced the door latch cause I had to break it to open it. new latch didn't fix problem.. I pulled the motor control board out which was located in the back of the machine at the bottom left location. I checked all the solder points and found a black rectangular piece that has 3 solder points. one was loose. I soldered back to the board and now the machine works great.. I spent hours trying to find a repair fix online. many said theirs no such thing as error F-28.. they are wrong.. check you solder points. I ordered another Motor control computer just in case and the new replacement has different connectors. a waste of $150.. soldered board still working after a week. good luck Ads By Google Related Models |

Hi Louis
Nice going in fixing that, and thanks for sharing it with us. I think what happened when you tried to get help with the F 28 code is that folks were looking at the older Duet models which do not have that code. It definitely points you to the motor control board. Diagnostics and codes have been updated and revised for your model. I have to assume given the age of your machine that this was a mfg error. Anyway, glad it is working and hopefully your post will help others.
